India Initiates an Anti-dumping Investigation against Ceftriaxone Sodium Produced in China

On Sep 24, 2020, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India issued an announcement to initiate an anti-dumping investigation against Ceftriaxone Sodium Sterile produced in China. The HS code of the products under investigation are 2941.1090, 2941.9090 and 2942.0090. The dumping investigation period in this case is from Apr 1, 2019 to Mar 31, 2020. The damage investigation period is from Apr 1,2016 to Mar 31,2020.


The relevant background information of India's anti-dumping investigation against Ceftriaxone Sodium produced in China is as follows: On Apr 4,2007, the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry initiated an anti-dumping investigation. On July 2,2008. India made a final ruling on this case and decided to impose an anti-dumping duty of US$55.61/kg to US$77.35/kg on Ceftriaxone Sodium produced in China.


On Nov 22,2012, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India issued an announcement, it initiated the first anti-dumping sunset review investigation against Ceftriaxone Sodium Originally produced in China. The dumping investigation period in this case is from July 1,2011 to June 30,2012, and the damage investigation period is from Apr 1,2009 to June 30,2012. On May 20,2014, India made a final ruling on the first sunset review and decided to impose a uniform anti-dumping duty of US$21.85/kg on Ceftriaxone Sodium produced in China.


In 2019, India did not initiate a second anti-dumping sunset review in this case, and the levy was cancelled.
