Maltitol occurs as a white, crystalline powder containing small amounts of sorbitol and related polyhydric alcohols. It is very soluble in water and slightly soluble in ethanol.
Maltitol is a new type of functional sweetener that can be used in ice cream, popsicles, pastries, juice (flavor) drinks, biscuits, bread, pickles and sweets according to production needs.
