Description
Sodium Erythorbate occurs as a white, crystalline powder or as granules. In the dry state it is reasonably stable in air, but in solution it deteriorates in the presence of air, trace metals, heat, and light. One gram dissolves in about 7mL of water. The pH of a 1:20 aqueous solution is between 5.5 and 8.0.

Sodium erythorbate is the sodium salt of erythorbic acid, white crystalline powder or granules and oderless. It has been confirmed as a statutory food additive by FAO and WHO. Sodium erythorbate has significantly effect on keeping food color, natural flavor and extending the shelf life of food. It is widely used in meat products, beer, beverages, canned fruits and so on.
