Description
Sulfaquinoxaline Sodium is a pale yellow powder. It can be used for treating fowl coccidiosis.
Application
Sulfaquinoxaline Sodium is a special sulfonamide drug for the treatment of coccidiosis, used to treat coccidiosis in chickens and turkeys. It has the strongest effect on Eimeria giant, Brucella and Eimeria acerola in chickens, and weaker on soft and poisonous Eimeria, and higher doses are needed to get effect. It is often combined with amproline or ditrimethoprim to enhance the efficacy. The peak of action of sulfaquinoxaline sodium is in the second generation schizont (days 3 to 4 of coccidia infection), and it does not affect the coccidial immunity of birds. It has certain antibacterial activity and can prevent secondary infection of coccidiosis. It is prone to cross-resistance with other sulfa drugs.
