Description
Chlorpromazine hydrochloride is a white or almost white, crystalline powder. It is very soluble in water, freely soluble in ethanol (96 per cent). It decomposes on exposure to air and light. It shows polymorphism.
Application
Chlorpromazine hydrochloride is mainly used for antipsychotics, intensive hypnotics, anesthetics, analgesics and anticonvulsants. It can also be used for vomiting and intractable hiccups and causing artificial hibernation.
