Description
Meloxicam is a pale yellow powder. It is practically insoluble in water, soluble in dimethylformamide, very slightly soluble in ethanol (96 per cent). It shows polymorphism.
Application
Meloxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug with anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects. It is suitable for symptomatic treatment of pain, swelling and soft tissue inflammation, traumatic pain, and postoperative pain in rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis.
