Diacerein is a yellow, crystalline powder. It is practically insoluble in water, soluble in dimethylacetamide, slightly soluble in tetrahydrofuran, practically insoluble in anhydrous ethanol.
Diacerein can induce cartilage formation, has analgesic, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effects, and can also significantly improve the joint function of patients with osteoarthritis, delay the course of disease, reduce pain and improve the quality of life of patients. It is mainly used to treat osteoarthritis (OA).
