Description
Metronidazole benzoate is a white or slightly yellowish, crystalline powder or flakes. It is practically insoluble in water, freely soluble in methylene chloride, soluble in acetone, slightly soluble in alcohol.
Application
Metronidazole benzoate is derived from metronidazole and benzoic acid. Metronidazole benzoate has antibacterial, anti-parasitic, and anti-trichomoniasis effects. It is used to treat infections caused by various anaerobic bacteria, protozoa and similar bacteria, including trichomoniasis, amoebiasis, vaginosis and gingivitis.
