Carboplatin is a crystalline powder. It is soluble in water at a rate of approximately 14 mg/mL, and the pH of a 1% solution is 5-7. It is virtually insoluble in ethanol, acetone, and dimethylacetamide.
Carboplatin is a broad-spectrum anti-tumor drug. It is mainly used for small cell lung cancer, ovarian cancer, testicular tumor, head and neck squamous cell carcinoma. It can be used for non-small cell lung cancer, bladder cancer, cervical cancer, pleural mesothelioma, melanoma and endometrial cancer.
